As soon as you tell someone you live in a van, one of the first questions they ask is where do you poop or do you even have a toilet in there?

Personally, we have only used two systems. One of them reminded you that poop really stinks and the other was forgotten about once you flushed it. But here are the 3 most common options:

No System: the cheapest option, but when you got to go, you have to find somewhere to go.

Bucket-Based System: Super budget-friendly, but it takes some planning and creativity to handle waste. We went for this option as a backup plan for a while. When it was time to empty the bag in the bucket, one of us would hold the door open while the other got the bag and tossed it into a trash can as fast as possible. Not the most pleasant experience, but it got the job done.

Dry Flush (No plumbing or wiring needed): This one is like magic. When you flush, the smell disappears, and it's gone for good. I know that is hard to believe but it's true. It's the same size as our old bucket, but now we can keep waste locked away for weeks. When it's time, we can dispose of up to 15 uses (💩) at once. Super convenient but cost about $2 per poop.

We use the Laveo Dry-Flush Toilet - Battery Power toilet now, and honestly it’s the best option of the 3.
