Vanlife is an incredible journey, but before you hit the road, there's a crucial aspect you must consider: your van's layout. It's the blueprint for your daily life on wheels, and getting it right can make all the difference. Here are a few things we recommend considering before you start your build.

  1. Height Matters

First things first, consider your height. Can you comfortably fit on a bed that's oriented side to side? Will you constantly bump your head when you sit up?

  1. Wet vs. Dry Dishes

Another important factor is the practicality of your kitchen area. Can you wash dishes without turning your entire van into a water park? Efficiency in a compact space is key, so think about how to keep things dry and functional.

  1. Mock It Up

To avoid costly mistakes and constant adjustments later on, it's a great idea to mock up your van's living space. We used painters tape to map out our layout and measured everything. It's like playing the ultimate game of Tetris, finding the perfect configuration that suits your needs.

If you want to take it one step further, we really love Vanspace 3D. You can experiment with various layouts and see how the van will look in 3D.

In the end, your van's layout is the foundation of your lifestyle. Take your time, plan thoughtfully, and create a space that's yours.
