Eric - Owner | Engineer & all the stuff
- When I was 5, I was pretty sure I'd be a fighter pilot when I grew up.
- My favorite part of my job is designing new products and then testing them and using them on our van.
- My current favorite outdoor activity is backcountry skiing because it combines fitness, adventure, and fun all into one awesome sport.
- The most memorable adventure I've had so far has to be quitting my last job, building out a van, and hitting the road with Cat. This single action has led to countless additional crazy awesome adventures from Grand Canyon trips, skiing Fourteeners, climbing Mt. Rainier, and starting Unaka with Dan which has been its own awesome adventure.
Cat - Accounting & lots of stuff
- When I was 5, I was pretty sure I'd be a veterinarian when I grew up.
- My favorite part of my job has to be my teammates at Unaka. We're a small crew, but have been able to accomplish some big things together.
- My current favorite outdoor activity is backcountry skiing. I love being able to explore places few people get to see in the winter. Skiing elusive untracked powder is also a bonus:)
- The most memorable adventure I've had so far is trying to reach the high point in every state which has brought me to the top of some pretty cool mountains - Katahdin, Hood, Rainier, etc. Although some are tougher than others, each one has dished out its own challenges and there is always a spectacular view from the top.
Brad - website & some other stuff
- When I was 5, I was pretty sure I'd be a superhero when I grew up. Still waiting on my powers to show up...
- My favorite part of my job is that I can wear shorts in the office.
- My current favorite outdoor activity is campfires. I love the crackle, the warmth, how its always changing, and being able to enjoy a fire with others.
- The most memorable adventure I've had so far is being a dad. Getting to see my kids faces light up with excitement and wonder when we are out on a hike or bike ride or walk and just spending time with my family in general is the most memorable adventure. For me, it's the people I'm with more-so than the place that is unforgettable
Matt - Ops | Customer service & more stuff
- When I was 5, I was pretty sure I'd be a firefighter when I grew up.
- My favorite part of my job is working with our crew. We have a great group of people and it's awesome to get to work somewhere you genuinely enjoy, regardless of the day's tasks. I also enjoy throwing stuff away.
- My current favorite outdoor activity is overnight river trips with my wife and friends.
- The most memorable adventure I've had so far is being fortunate enough to go on multiple river trips, ranging from 16-23 days, on the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon. It's one of the best places in the world.
Zach - Engineer
- When I was 5, I thought I would be going on adventures and exploring the woods. Nailed it.
- My favorite part of my job is using my creativity while problem solving to find the ideal solution.
- My current favorite outdoor activity is hiking in the mountains with my wife and friends. I enjoy the tranquility of the woods, the beautiful views, and the physical exertion of the climb.
- The most memorable adventure I've had so far is living on a sailboat for 6 months with my wife and our cat. We don't have nautical backgrounds so it was a very different and challenging experience that taught us so much and gave us new perspective on many things.
