Our rack kits are designed to give you ultimate flexibility with the design and layout of your rack kit. Before selecting a layout read all of the disclaimers at the bottom of this page.
Note: Additional adjustments may be required to use some of the layouts below with the new 59.125" wide cross bars instead of old 56.125" wide cross bars. This is especially the case where a cross bar may occupy the same space as a rack bracket. As always review your layout in person before finalizing or installing your fans or AC units.

Notes:
Fan Clearance: This layout only leaves ¼” of clearance between the fan and the solar panels which we generally do not recommend.
Solar Panels: This layout uses 2 versions of the New Newpowa 9BB 100W Solar panels. The power outputs of these panels are identical, so they can be wired in series or parallel as needed depending on your needs. The orientation of the Compact 100W panel does not really have an effect on this layout option.
Flush Mount Brackets: Note these solar panels are 1.18" tall so they will sit slightly lower than the tops of the cross bars

Solar: This layout uses 2 x 100W panels by the fan, and 2 x 200W panels in the rear. In theory, the 2 x 100W can be wired in parallel, then in series with the rear 200W panels. We have not confirmed the efficiencies or losses of wiring these panels up in this way so we make no guarantees on the performance.

Disclaimers & Warnings
Installation: The installation should be performed by qualified persons only.
Layouts: Some of these layouts have not actually been installed. Note that in all circumstances, you may be required to tweak, move, or adjust cross bars, brackets, or accessories during the installation if you come across a potential issue.
Flush Mount Solar Panel Bracket Locations
The flush mount brackets or in some cases red squares are shown as approximate locations are for reference only. The exact locations for those solar panels and your layout may vary based on the mounting holes located on the solar panels. In some cases locating the flush mount brackets to avoide other objects on the rack may require drilling holes into the frame of your solar panels. Unaka Gear Co. is not responsible if this voids the warranty of the solar panel or damage is done to the panel by the installer.
Roof Rack Load Rating: Unaka Gear Co. encourages all customers to follow the vehicle manufactures guidelines with respect to the load capacity of their van roof. If the load capacity of the van roof is exceeded, this will void any warranty with respect to the roof rack.
Roof Top Decks: Unaka Gear Co. does not recommend building any sort of roof deck platform on your van roof. Vehicle roofs are high above the ground and any sort of fall can result in serious injury or death.
Installation Clearances: Some of these layouts have minimal clearances between cross bars, solar panels, fans, or AC units which we do not recommend. We do not guarantee any of these clearance dimensions, as we do not control the tolerances on the van, the AC or fans, or the installation location of those items. In some cases that may be the only option for your layout but it is up to you to decide if that clearance is enough for your installation and needs or if you want to go for it. In some cases, these minimal clearances will require you to remove the solar panels to access your AC unit, or fan for maintenance.
